Kent is a PADI-certified scuba instructor with several specialty course instructor certifications under his belt, and he brings far more than just technical skill to each dive. He started scuba diving at just 21 years old and quickly fell in love with the calm, the wonder, and the sheer thrill of exploring life beneath the surface. That passion has taken him to incredible dive sites across the globe, from coral reefs teeming with color to historic shipwrecks steeped in mystery.

When he’s not teaching, Kent enjoys taking upscale and luxury cruises with his husband. These voyages allow him to dive during the day in some of the world’s most beautiful destinations, then return to the ship to savor its refined atmosphere, attentive service, gourmet cuisine, and the camaraderie shared among fellow travelers. Luxury ships are typically smaller than the large mainstream vessels, which means they can access off-the-beaten-path ports that many others can’t reach—adding variety and a sense of discovery to every itinerary.

With a teaching degree and a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Kent combines strong educational fundamentals with a deep understanding of how people learn best.
